Michael W. Wells

Mike Wells serves as President of REI Investments Inc., the manager of REI Real Estate Services, LLC. Over the past 25 years Mr. Wells has been involved in a number of significant real estate projects including the JW Marriott Hotel, Marriott Place, Circle City Mall, WellPoint Operation Center, Emmis Communications Headquarters and the Indianapolis Marriott Hotel, all in downtown Indianapolis. Currently, REI has a number of hotels and multi-family projects under development in Indianapolis, Louisville, Kentucky and Austin Texas.
In Addition to his development activities, Mr. Wells manages the portfolio of real estate investments owned by REI Real Estate Partnership. These investments include 300 North Meridian in downtown Indianapolis, several parking garages and numerous suburban office buildings. REI currently has over $200 million of development projects ongoing.
Prior to his career with REI, Mr. Wells was practicing attorney in Indianapolis, specializing in the real estate and tax-exempt financing area.
Mr. Wells graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis and received a B.S. from Purdue University in Interdisciplinary Engineering. Community activities include serving as immediate past Chairman of the Indianapolis Zoo, Executive Committee member of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and Building Owners and Managers Association; immediate past president of Crossroads Council of the Boy Scouts of America, member of the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site Board of Directors and co-chairman of the Jazz Fellowship Awards. Mr. Wells is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana Bar Associations and alumnus of the Stanley K. Lacy Leadership program.
Jeremy Stephenson
Vice President of Development
Helping cities grow, businesses succeed, and overseeing our developments from vision to reality.
Jeremy knows how to work with people–local government officials, attorneys, engineers, architects, general contractors and finance professionals–by taking a vision and turning it into the reality of a successful development for REI. In leading our development division at REI, he has successfully developed anything from office and medical office build to suits for local clients to large urban hotel developments throughout the country. He recently developed a$425 million convention center hotel development in Downtown Indianapolis. He is currently working on a 219 unit upscape multi-family development in Zionsville, IN, a mixed-use 40 acre development along the Ohio River in Louisville and hotel projects in Austin, TX, Salt Lake, UT and other locations throughout the United States.He also works directly with outside counsel to advise on legal matters for the company.
Jeremy is a graduate of Indiana University School of Law- Indianapolis and has also completed classes in the Masters of Business Administration from Butler University. He is an honors graduate of Butler University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Prior to REI, Stephenson worked for The Indy Partnership, a regional economic development organization serving the Indianapolis area, where he worked to secure existing jobs and bring hundreds of new jobs–as well as over $50 million in capital investment–to the Indianapolis community.
Jeremy greatly enjoys being involved in the community where he is on the serves in voluntary leadership roles with the Urban Land Institute, Outreach, Inc (non-profit working with homeless teens in Indianapolis), the 2012 Super Bowl Host Committeeand Common Ground Christian Church. He previously served on the board of the Greater Indianapolis Habitat for Humanity, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Butler University Alumni Board and multiple scholarship foundations. He is also actively involved with Wheeler Mission Homeless Shelter, and a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Jeremy was recently recognized with the Indianapolis Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award.
